What is CEIDG?

What company data is public in CEIDG?
The CEIDG entry contains a range of information available to the public. The most important include:

● full company name (including any additional brand element),
● NIP and REGON numbers,
● registered office address and correspondence address,
● addresses of business activity locations,
● PKD codes describing the scope of activity,
● business start date,
● information about suspension or resumption of activity,
● information about bankruptcy or prohibition of activity (if applicable).
In practice, this means that the registered office address – if it is a home address – becomes fully public. This is one of the reasons why some entrepreneurs decide to separate private and business addresses.
Are all data visible to everyone?
Not all information submitted to CEIDG is publicly available to the same extent. Some data, such as the PESEL number, is restricted and not visible in the public search view.
However, basic identification data – including address and NIP – remains public. Therefore, choosing a registered office address should be carefully considered at the registration stage.
How to check a company in CEIDG?
Checking a company in CEIDG is simple and free. Just visit the official website and use the search engine. A company can be found in several ways:

● by company name.
After finding a company, the system displays the current entry with all public information. You can also download a confirmation printout, which has the status of an official document.
Why is it worth verifying contractors?
Verifying a company in CEIDG before signing a contract reduces the risk of cooperating with an inactive or suspended entity. This is especially important when issuing invoices or signing long-term agreements.
